Aida T. Vazquez of Federal Way died April 8. She was 76.
She was born June 19, 1925, in Cayey, Puerto Rico. She left Puerto Rico to complete her education at New York University in 1947 and married Salvador Vazquez on Dec. 16, 1950, in New York City. Since he was in the Air Force, they traveled throughout Europe and the Mediterranean region before settling in Seattle in 1981.
With her husband, she operated the Neighborhood Recycling Center in Federal Way for 18 years.
She is survived by her husband; sons Mario of Snohomish and Larry of Omaha, Neb.; and four grandchildren.
A graveside service was held April 12 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, followed by a memorial service at Grace Church in Federal Way.
The family suggests memorial contributions in her name be made to Swedish Providence Hospice Center.
