Merrill T. Smith died May 21 in Prescott, Ariz.

He was 49.

Born June 27, 1952, in West Seattle, he was a resident of Federal Way for more than 30 years before moving to Arizona.

He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Morrow of Auburn; a brother, J. Martin Smith of Olympia; a sister, Michele A. Smith of Burien; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, M.L. and Marcia Smith.

Services were July 9 at Mountain View Cemetery.
