Tickled to see ‘snafu’ | Letter

I was reading “One more marijuana store applicant wins lottery in Federal Way” posted Dec. 30 and I was tickled to see the word “snafu” in the last sentence of the story.

I was reading “One more marijuana store applicant wins lottery in Federal Way” posted Dec. 30 and I was tickled to see the word “snafu” in the last sentence of the story.

It made me wonder if the reporter and editor realized that the word is a military acronym, and what the “f” in snafu stands for. Maybe it’s moved past being an acronym and is just a word now. Not sure

what the latest style guide would have to say. Anyway, it made me laugh to see the word in a newspaper. Happy new year!
