Mooyah Burgers, Fries and Shakes opened its first Washington state franchise on April 15 in Federal Way. The fast casual restaurant is located at 1706 S. 320th St., Suite A (behind Sterling Bank).
The highlight is the Mooyah Burger with two hefty patties. Order it Mooyah Style with choice of cheese, tomato, pickles, lettuce, grilled onions and Mooyah Sauce.
Other toppings include bacon, avocado and multiple sauces. Choose a fresh-baked bun available in white or whole wheat — or try an “Iceburger” wrapped in lettuce.
No order is complete without a cup of seasoned fresh-cut fries. Milkshakes are made with 100 percent ice cream in flavors like vanilla, peanut butter cup and Oreo.
Burgers are also available in Little Mooyah size, along with all-natural turkey and black bean veggie options. An all-beef hot dog is $2.95.
The place is kid-friendly. Little Moo Meals for children come with applesauce and choices like chicken strips, hot dog, grilled cheese or a Little Moo Burger. A wall-sized chalkboard gives kids a place to draw and color. On that note, the adults might enjoy playing with the electronic soda fountain.
On April 27, Mooyah will give away coupons for free burgers for a year to the first 50 customers.
Business partners Peter Marathedal and Sebastian Brost own 23 Little Caesar’s franchises in the area. They plan to open 12 more Mooyah locations in the next few years, with the next in Silverdale. The Federal Way location employs about 30 people.
The rapidly-expanding chain is based in Dallas, Texas. Mooyah had about 50 locations by the end of 2012, with plans to grow to 100 by the end of 2013.
