The Todd Beamer girls soccer team hasn’t lost a South Puget Sound League South Division match since 2005. That streak is still alive, barely.
The Titans and Emerald Ridge Jaguars played to a 2-2 tie Thursday night in an SPSL South match at Puyallup’s Sparks Stadium. The tie moved the Titans to 9-0-1 in league play.
Beamer finished 13-0-1 in the South Division in 2006, ended up 14-0-0 last season and rolled to the SPSL South title both seasons. Despite the tie, the Titans remained the No. 1-ranked Class 4A team in the state, according to the Seattle Times.
Beamer is also ranked 19th in the nation by ESPNrise.com after finishing second at last year’s state championships. The Titans lost to Eastlake High School in a shootout in the title game.
Thursday night, Emerald Ridge’s Audrey Sullivan scored her second of two goals in the 54th minute to help the Jaguars tie Beamer. Emerald Ridge currently sits in second place in the South Division with a 7-2-1 record.
Sullivan’s first goal of the game came in the 14th minute to give Emerald Ridge a 1-0 lead. Beamer battled back with goals from Holland Crook and Tiarra Fentress to take a 2-1 lead.
The Decatur Gators moved into third place in the SPSL South with a 3-1 win over Puyallup on Thursday. The Gators (6-3-0) got goals from Hannah Herbert in the 16th minute, Rachel Markey in the 38th and Ellie Franco in the 74th to take a 3-0 lead. Puyallup’s only goal came in the 78th minute.
Jefferson remained in playoff position in the SPSL North with a 2-0 win over Auburn Thursday. The Raiders (4-3-3) currently sit in fourth place in the eight-team league, behind Kentwood (9-0-0), Auburn Riverside (6-1-3) and Tahoma (6-2-1).
Jefferson got a pair of goals from Hannah Friedman and a shutout in net from Nicole Price against Auburn.
Federal Way tied second-place Auburn Riverside Thursday, 1-1, to move to 3-5-2. The Eagles got a goal from Porshia Morgann in the 42nd minute.

Boys golf
The Todd Beamer boys golf team (8-2) secured the South Puget Sound League title with an 84-76 win over the Decatur Gators Thursday at the Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club. The Titans were led by the 1-under-par round by Broc Johnson, who fired a 35 for the second-straight match. Johnson finished second at last year’s Class 4A State Boys Golf Championships.
The Thomas Jefferson Raiders scored a season-high 99 points to beat the Federal Way Eagles Thursday afternoon at the Riverbend Golf Course, 99-61. The Raiders had six players shoot 40 or under during the match, led by the 1-under 35 of Sean Carroll. Both Erik Jarvey and Charles Lee finished with 36s and Keenan Darrow and Quinn Hildebrandt shot matching 38s.

Boys tennis
The Thomas Jefferson tennis team remained in second place in the SPSL North Division with a 3-2 win over Kentwood Friday afternoon. The Raiders got victories from Kyle Creek at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-3, Branden Muraki and Brandyn Gomez at No. 2 doubles, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0, and Garceau and Park at No. 3 doubles, 6-3, 6-4.

Girls golf
Jefferson moved to 8-2 on the season by winning a tiebreaker against Federal Way Thursday. The two teams tied with identical scores of 66-66 at the Northshore Golf Course. But the Raiders won, thanks to having less total strokes than the Eagles. The loss dropped Federal Way to 5-5.
TJ’s Jayme Carbon earned medalist honors with a 42 and Federal Way’s Emily Victor finished with a 48.

Girls swimming
The Thomas Jefferson Raiders rolled over Kent-Meridian Thursday, 140-32. Jefferson won every event during the dual meet and got state-qualifying times from Amber Cratsenberg in the 50-yard freestyle (24.70) and 100 free (54.83). The Raiders also got a pair of individual victories from Janice Huynh in the 200 individual medley (2:26.46) and 100 backstroke (1:06.50) and Savannah Coe in the 100 butterfly (1:02.97) and 100 breaststroke (1:12.32). Other TJ winners were Alexa Tavasci in the 200 free (2:13.59), Alyssa Kellar in diving (159.40 points) and all three relay races.
