Marine Hills Swim Club dominates All-City meet

Marine Hills Swim Club won the All-City swim competition by a combined team score of 375 points Aug. 2 at Normandy Park.

The club beat Sand Point Country Club by 62.5 points.

Thomas Anderson took first for Marine Hills in the boys 15-18-year-old 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.59 seconds. He also placed first in the 50 backstroke and 50 butterfly.

Cota Clise also had quite a night for the 8-under boys, winning the 25 backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.

Both the girls 11-12 and 13-14-year-old relay teams placed first in the 200 Medley Relay. The girls 11-12 and 13-14-year-olds won the 200 freestyle relay. And the boys 13-14 and 15-18-year-old 200 relay teams took first.

Alexander Kabacy placed second in the boys 9-10-year-old 100-yard Individual Medley, while Jack Springer took first in the event for the 11-12-year-old group. He also won the 50 backstroke.

Leland Baltazar led Marine Hills to a first place finish in the 13-14-year-old group with a time of 57.22, and Robert Hughes won the event for the 15-18-year-old group, also taking the 50 breaststroke.

Baltazar also took first in the 50 backstroke.

Mary Vertetis finished first for the girls 11-12-year-old 100 Individual Medley. She also brought home the win in the 50-yard freestyle.

Taylor Kabacy took first in the girls 13-14-year-old 100 freestyle, while Junior Fitzsimmons won the event for the boys 15-18-year-olds.

Ryann Armstrong was victorious in the 8-under 25 backstroke for the girls, while Sarah Jacobson 11-12 placed first in the 50 backstroke and butterfly.

Finishing the dominant performance, Ashly Walling took the eight-under 25 breaststroke and Issac Christian won the 13-14-year-old 50 breaststroke.
