Man wakes up, finds strangers in apartment: At 1:21 a.m. on Sept. 12 in the 33000 block of 17th Lane South, police responded to a call of a man waking up in the middle of the night, hearing noises in his living room. When he went out to investigate the noise, the man told officers he saw two unknown men there. The man told police when he confronted the men, they ran. They left a backpack behind, but officers found nothing in the bag. The homeowner was unable to give a description since “he just woke up.”

Man just trying to get his grub on: At 2:47 a.m. on Sept. 12 in the 34000 block of 16th Avenue South, officers responded to and arrested a suspect for trespassing at a restaurant. Upon identifying the suspect, police discovered they have previously dealt with this suspect trespassing the same location.

Someone doesn’t want to pay at the pump: At 8:53 a.m. on Sept. 12 in the 33000 block of First Way South, police responded to the nearby 76 gas station where the manager reported someone “damaged gas pump No.6.” Upon further investigation, officers discovered an access panel to the pump was “pried open, causing damage.” The manager told police no surveillance video was available.

Man not ready for iTunes, steals used CDs: At 1:49 p.m. on Sept. 12 in the 31000 block of 23rd Avenue South, police responded to a call at the transit center where a woman told officers an unknown man stole $300-worth of “used rap CDs” from her purse. There were no witnesses or suspects identified and CCTV footage was located.

Man steals tools, unable to run from police: At 4:06 p.m. on Sept 12 at The Commons mall, officers arrested a man for stealing $169 worth of tools from Sears. When the suspect saw police responding to the area, police said he discarded his jacket, hat, and the stolen merchandise over a nearby fence to confuse the officers. Police weren’t fooled, the suspect was arrested and the items were found and recovered. Police also found the suspect in possession of paraphernalia associated with smoking heroin. The suspect was booked into SCORE Jail.

Man’s hard work pays off with broken windows: At 2:04 a.m. on Sept. 13 in the 1100 block of South 344th Street, police responded to a call from a victim who stated he observed an early 2000 white truck with a tarp on the back drive through the parking lot of his business. Officers said the victim observed a white male, six feet tall, skinny build wearing a dark hoodie and pants, break out two of the windows to his two vehicles. The victim said the suspect then ran to the truck and the truck sped away from the location after being confronted by him. Police did a search of the area for the car based on the victim’s description but were unable to locate it.

Tractor batteries go missing: At 12:47 p.m. on Sept. 13 in the 34000 block of 21st Avenue South, officers received a theft report. The victim stated four batteries from his commercial vehicle, a truck tractor, which was parked along the roadway. The victim told police he believes the items were taken. There were no witnesses and the victim estimated the loss value at $360.00.

Trusting “friends” gets rental car stolen: At 1:50 p.m. on Sept. 13 in the 34000 block of 9th Avenue South, a victim reported his rental vehicle was taken without his permission. The victim said he gave the keys to the car to the suspect to get a phone charger from the car, but they never returned. The victim said he also reported the stolen vehicle to the rental company. They informed the victim his gas card was used in northern California before being cancelled. The police have no leads at this time.

Drunk man disrupts movie: At 12:31 a.m. on Sept. 14 in the 2000 block of South Gateway Center Plaza, police responded to a scene where a man, who witnesses said was drunk, was passed out in the theater. Officers said the man refused to leave when he woke up after staff asked him to leave. Police and paramedics said the man was unable to stand on his own without falling.

Boys need their electrolytes: At 2:11 a.m. in the 1700 block of South 356th Street, a Chevron employee contacted police to report two juvenile males shoplifted vitamin water. The employee said the boys entered the store and tried to persuade her to sell them cigarettes. When she refused, they “took a bottle of water and fled on foot north on Enchanted Parkway.”

It’s got to be the shoes: At 11:37 a.m. on Sept. 14 at The Commons mall, officers arrested an adult female suspect for stealing two pairs of shoes from Famous Footwear. The stolen merchandise was recovered by police and Famous Footwear refused to press charges. The suspect was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Ellensburg and was booked in SCORE Jail.

Disgruntled man roughs up 7-11 patrons, employees: At 7:47 a.m. on Sept. 15 in the 28000 block of Military Road South, a suspect was seen by King County Sheriff causing problems inside 7-Eleven. Officers said the suspect was in a brief scuffle with an employee before running out of the store. Another employee, along with the initially employee chased after the suspect and beat him up. They punched and kicked him in the face. The King County Sheriff’s Office deputy was able to detain the suspect who was uncooperative and accused everyone of racial profiling him. After taking a statement from the suspect, he was trespassed from the 7-Eleven.

Man goes about the AutoZone the wrong way: At 10:45 a.m. on Sept. 15 in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, officers responded to a call from AutoZone. Employees told police an unknown black male and female stole several items from AutoZone. The pair fled in an older Honda Accord. The employees described the male as a man in his 40s, wearing a gray jacket and black pants. The female is in her 30s wearing a red shirt and blue pants. Police have no leads at this time.

Wallet thief not aware of surroundings: At 11:01 a.m. on Sept. 16 at The Commons mall, officers responded to a call regarding a victim’s stolen wallet. The victim told police her wallet was taken from her unlocked car in the mall parking lot. But police said a witness observed the incident and followed the get-away vehicle. The victim also followed the suspect’s vehicle but told police she lost it. Neither the victim nor the witness could identify a suspect, but both described the getaway car as a silver Mazda compact SUV with no license plate.

Friendship gone bad ends in arrest: At 4:52 p.m. on Sept. 17 in the 2000 block of South 320th Street, police received a call about two transient males in a “heated verbal argument with some shoving.” Officers found “the aggressor” and found he had a misdemeanor warrant out of Kent for Criminal Trespass 1. The warrant was confirmed and the suspect was arrested and booked into Kent Jail without incident.

Someone “loves that chicken” too much: At 8:20 a.m. on Sept. 18 in the 34000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, police responded to Popeye’s Chicken where the manager reported an unknown subject “threw a large rock through a window on the west side of the building into the dining area.” But the manager said there was no surveillance video that covers that side of the building.
