Rummage sale to benefit family of 5-year-old Federal Way girl with brain cancer

On Feb. 4, 5-year-old Kaylie Bergen of Federal Way was diagnosed with diffuse pontine glioma — a malignant tumor in the brainstem. It’s a fast-growing cancer, and there is no cure. The two-year survival rate is less than 20 percent.

Kaylie undergoes radiation treatment five days a week at the University of Washington in Seattle.
