From Mirror staff reports:
A Federal Way man is accused of raping a 17-year-old developmentally disabled girl.
Faaeseiga Siu, 21, is being held on $250,000 bail. The state will likely amend the charge from third-degree rape to second-degree rape, according to the King County Prosecutors Office.
The incident allegedly took place April 30 at an apartment in Auburn. Siu had arrived at the residence in the early morning hours with male and female friends. A tenant of the apartment told detectives Siu went into a bedroom where the disabled girl was sleeping. According to charging documents, the girl has Down syndrome and functions at a mental age lower than her chronological age.
The tenant heard noises from the bedroom, and assumed Siu was having sex with the female companion he brought to the apartment, according to charging papers. About 20 minutes later, Siu came out of the bedroom wearing only his underwear and a blanket.
The disabled girl told the apartment’s tenant that “Las Vegas,” her nickname for Siu because she cannot pronounce his first name, had penetrated her vagina with his fingers, according to charging papers.
In an interview with Auburn detectives, the girl continually talked about how much the rape hurt. The girl said Siu came into the room, spread her legs, pinned her arms and did the “sex thing” to her. She told him “no” and “stop, get off me” and “it hurts, leave me alone,” according to charging papers.
When the resident confronted Siu, he denied having sex with the girl, then left out a bedroom window, according to charging papers. Siu was later arrested May 10 by Auburn police. His arraignment is set for 9 a.m. May 26 at Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent.
