About 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, a Federal Way police officer was knocked off his motorcycle by another motorist near Pacific Highway South and South 330th Street, according to witnesses at the scene.
Officer Keith Pawn left with minor injuries, according to a Federal Way officer on the scene.
One woman witnessed the incident from the balcony at the New Horizon Motel. She said the police officer was turning right onto South 330th Street when a van also turned, sideswiping the officer and knocking him off the motorcycle. The officer was able to sit up right away, the witness said. She said the van’s driver went to assist the officer, while the van’s passenger ran away; the passenger was apprehended.
“You could hear the bike hit the van,” the witness said.
