Nun passes counterfeit $100 bill | Federal Way crime blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Unlikely suspect: At 1:27 p.m. July 10 at 1804 S. Commons, a cloistered nun reportedly passed a fake $100 bill at Famous Footwear.

• Attempted vehicle theft: At 1:43 p.m. July 9 at 33926 9th Ave. S., a victim observed a suspect unlawfully enter his vehicle and flee. The suspect was later located and released.

• Fraudulent checks: At 1:44 p.m. July 9 in the 30400 block of 1st Place South, a victim reported that checks were fraudulently deposited in an out-of-state ATM in her name.

• Park robbery: At 9:48 p.m. July 10 at 2410 S. 312th St., officers responded to an armed robbery at Steel Lake Park. Two suspects approached a victim. One pointed a handgun at the victim. One suspect was later located. The suspect with the gun was not located.

• Hit and run: At 1:57 a.m. July 12 in the 31400 block of 10th Avenue South, police were contacted about a hit and run involving a bicycle. The victim reportedly ran into a vehicle. The vehicle left the scene. The victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital for treatment.

• Missing boat: At 10:09 a.m. July 12 in the 32500 block of 43rd Place Southwest, a victim noticed that a 10-foot plastic boat was missing from the front yard.

• Bullets strike school: At 11:35 a.m. July 12 at 1310 S.W. 325th Place, it was reported that overnight, seven rounds were shot at Silver Lake Elementary. The bullets were fired from an assault rifle. They struck a classroom wall, pierced double pane windows and penetrated a classroom’s walls before also piercing through an interior wall of a walkway.

• Suspicious subject: At 8:15 p.m. July 12 in the 33000 block of Pacific Highway South, police observed a subject watching an adult female walking with a small child, about 3 years old. The subject watched the pair walk across a parking lot. When the individual was contacted by police, he or she reported being an artist interested in the child’s medical cast located on her arm. The subject did not admit any sexual desires directed toward the pair.

• Fraudulent prescription: At 8:43 p.m. July 12 at 34520 16th Ave. S., witnesses reported receiving a fraudulent prescription for oxycodone. The suspect fled the scene.
