A Federal Way man’s family has been checking homeless shelters, food banks and homeless encampments in the area, hoping they will find their loved one who has been missing since Dec. 4.

Tyler Crouson, 24, was last seen at his Federal Way residence and his roommate reported him missing on Dec. 8.

His roommate, who is also his cousin, believes Crouson left through his bedroom window to avoid being contacted by family, according to the Federal Way police report.

“… We believe he was involved in some kind of altercation with his roommates, which lead to him leaving his residence abruptly,” said his aunt Jennifer Scales, of Morro Bay, California, in an email to the Mirror. Scales has been in Federal Way since Dec. 15 to help locate her nephew. “We concur this as he left behind his phone, wallet, keys and car.”

Police observed no signs of a struggle at Crouson’s residence.

His cousin said Crouson has grown “increasingly withdrawn” and appeared to be depressed. He indicated Crouson does not have any access to firearms but may have access to edged weapons. He also does not have a working cell phone, nor does he have any money.

The missing man’s father and twin sister told police they were continuing their search efforts checking local areas associated with the homeless. Family members have also searched surrounding cities.

Police entered Crouson’s information into the missing person database. According to the Washington State Patrol, Crouson is described as white, 5-feet 2-inches, 200 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair. If you have information or have seen Crouson, contact the Federal Way Police Department at 253-835-6700.
