Mayor race: Ferrell is the one | Federal Way letters

On July 23, there was a debate at Federal Way High School hosted by The Mirror and the Federal Way Chamber of Commerce. Federal residents who attended submitted questions.

When Skip Priest was asked questions, he just answered “I’ll let one of my constituents answer that since I’ve been away from the city.” When he was asked the question regarding the 45-story high rise, he had no position. When asked about the Performing Arts Center, he said “Yes.” (Most people do not want this at this time).

I love music, painting etc., but not a center at this time. When asked about term limits, he changed his answer twice. Why would anyone want to spend big money now when so many businesses have closed and are closing. Even McDonalds at the Commons (the Mall) has closed. There is a big list of others that is too long to print. Is this how you budget at home? Not me. I wait until I can afford it.

Is this what you want in your Mayor of Federal Way? Ask one of the others who ran for office? We need someone with confidence and knowledge of Federal Way.

That is why we need Jim Ferrell who is a prosecutor, on the Federal Way City Council, lives in Federal Way and supports residents of Federal Way who pay big taxes, and doesn’t just give in to six people on the council who want what they want when they want it.

They are even letting workers go at City Hall. Is that what you think should happen? We also need more police, not less.

I have known Jim Ferrell for many years and feel it is time to elect Jim Ferrell to the position of Mayor of Federal Way.

Let’s stop and think before we jump into something we’ll be sorry for. We are not a Bellevue, but that is what several council members have wanted for many years.

Be sure to vote. Get your absentee ballot in the mail. Elections are Aug. 17.

Jim Ferrell is the one for our mayor.
