The Federal Way High School boys track team continued its dominating run Saturday by dominating the prestigious 38th annual Shoreline Invitational.

The Eagles, who are unbeaten in the South Puget Sound League for the last four years, easily outdistanced second-place Bellevue in the 57-team invitational at Shoreline Stadium. Federal Way finished with 92 total team points and Bellevue ended up with 51. Liberty followed in third place with 34 points.

“The 92 points is the most points many could remember by a team and the greatest winning margin,” said Federal Way head coach Sam Beesley.

The Eagles were led by junior Michael Tate, who was named the field athlete of the meet. Tate brought home a pair of individual titles in the 200 meters and long jump and also ran the second leg in the Eagles’ winning 4×400 relay team.

Tate soared in the long jump with a leap of 23 feet, 3.5 inches and ran a blazing 22.03 to win the 200. He teamed with D.J. May, Ezekiel McNeal and Jeremiah McNeal to win the relay in 3:20.01.

Junior Albert Havili also had a huge day in Shoreline. Havili, who will be a Division I linebacking recruit in the fall, set a Federal Way High School record in the discus. Havili won the event with a throw of 166-3, which broke a school record that has stood since 1975. He also finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 50-0.

The Eagles also got a victory from Aaron Persinger in the 300 hurdles in a time of 38.82. Persinger, also a junior, was also second in the 110 hurdles (14.99).

Federal Way got second-place finishes from Ezekiel McNeal in the 100 (10.9) and 400 (49.45) and Keenan Curran in the triple jump (44-6). The Eagles’ 4×100 relay team of May, Tate, Ezekiel McNeal and Kerson Lubin was also second in 42.62.

Decatur’s Drew Thompson also had a solid meet at the Shoreline Invitational. The senior single-handedly helped the Gators finish in 27th place by tallying all 11 of their team points.

Thompson finished up in third place in the 110 hurdles in a time of 15.0 and was fourth in the high jump with a leap of 6-5.

Beamer ended up in 16th place as a team with 16.5 points. The Titans were led by Austin Hitchcock, who finished second in the 300 hurdles in a time of 39.49. Senior Willie Roach was fifth in the high jump (6-5), seventh in the 200 (23.30) and 13th in the 100 (11.35).

Girls

Jefferson — The Raiders finished up in eighth place overall at the prestigious 36th Annual Lake Washington Invitational Saturday in Kirkland.

Jefferson was led by the first-place finish by junior Montana Pellegrini in the pole vault. Pellegrini cleared 10-6.

Senior Lindsey Dahl had an impressive all-around meet. Dahl finished fourth in the 300 hurdles (45.96), fifth in the long jump (17-4) and eighth in the triple jump (35-5.75). Cheryl Hong was sixth in the 400 (59.25) and Kaya Warrior was seventh in the shot put (35-11.5).

Beamer — The Titan girls ended up 12th at the Lake Washington Invitational on Saturday. Sophomore Alanna Vann was second in the 100 meters (12.17) and fifth in the 200 (25.26).

Freshman Chante Sposter ended up in seventh place in the 400 meters in a time of 59.67 and Miranda Vaara was 10th in the high jump (4-10). The Titans’ 4×100 team of Vann, Nicole Seabolt, TreAnna Culp and Keturah Saddler was fourth (50.21).

Decatur — The Gators finished fourth at the 12-team Sentinel Classic at Spanaway Lake Saturday. Decatur was led by sophomore Ericka Budinich, who won the long jump (16-10), was second in the 100 (13.25) and third in the triple jump (31-9).

Junior Jenelta Yates finished second in the 400 (1:02.63), Barun Tori was second in the pole vault (9-6), Autumn Arment was third in the 800 (2:42), Emma Dalin was fourth in the 1,600 (5:58) and fifth in the 3,200 (13:17.00) and Abby McFaul was fourth in the 100 hurdles (17.18) and fourth in the 300 hurdles (50.78).
