The following is a sample from the Federal Way police public information log:
• At 2:54 p.m. Sept. 1 in the 36900 block of 2nd Ave. S.W., a victim challenged police to shoot him. He was verbally abusive to police and was detained. He told police they should have shot him and admitted to taking “a lot” of anti-anxiety medication.
• At 1:26 p.m. Sept. 1 at 711 S.W. 358th St., a victim came home to find his or her dog missing. Cameras observed a male approach the victim’s residence and touch the fence, but did not catch him taking the dog.
• At 9:37 p.m. Sept. 1 at 2305 S.W. 336th St., a suspect at the Dairy Queen attempted to pay for goods with a counterfeit $100 bill. The money was recognized as counterfeit and the suspect paid for the goods with actual cash before leaving.
• At 9:25 p.m. Sept. 1 in the 2500 block of South 286th Place, police responded to a sex offense. The suspect identified two suspects for the crime. One was booked for indecent liberties and the other was released to family. A weapons offense also took place.
• At 9:01 p.m. Sept. 1 in the 28600 block of Pacific Highway South, police responded to a possible sexual assault at the residence. Police were unable to contact the person at the reported location of the assault.
• At 2:44 a.m. Sept. 2 at 405 S. 312th St., two males were caught on camera near a church. A computer system from the pastor’s locked room was discovered stolen.
• At 12:45 a.m. Sept. 2 at 104 S.W. 312th St., a victim was punched and kicked before the victim’s wallet, containing $200 in cash and credit cards, was stolen. A K-9 track was unsuccessful.
• At 1:17 p.m. Sept. 2 at 30816 Pacific Highway S., police were called to a 10-person fight. Upon arrival they found no fight, but saw a victim bleeding from facial wounds. The victim denied medical help and was uncooperative with police.
• At 5:20 p.m. Sept. 2 at 2700 S.W. 340 Place, it was reported that five teenagers tried to take a person’s bicycle at a park. The teenagers demanded cash and a female suspect sprayed the victim with a mace-like substance when he attempted to leave.
• At 7:52 p.m. Sept. 2 at 31840 Pacific Highway S., a witness reported three suspicious people tagging a commercial building. Police found 11 cans of spray paint, wire cutters, a magnet and pliers on the suspects. Two juveniles were returned to family members and the third suspect was booked on a warrant.
• At 2:31 a.m. Sept. 3 at apartments at 1300 S.W. Campus Drive, a Child Protective Services referral was referenced after a fire was started by a 4-year-old who found fireworks, owned by a 15-year-old brother.
