I write this letter to support Prayer Day and those many people who would attend this precious celebration of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This meeting of Christians is under attack by those who are destroying our country by taking religion from our lives. They have succeeded at taking prayer and objects referring to Christ or religion out of our schools.

The Navy Chaplain can no longer mention Jesus’ name in prayer. They are trying to have all the “cross-shaped” headstones removed from the grave sites of our honored soldiers and trying to take prayer from the military completely.

Are our local prayer meetings to be attacked and abolished by this organization against Christianity? Is it that whomsoever leads and organizes these prayer groups will be sued? Are our churches at risk of these attacks?

This resembles a time back in the slavery days, when slaves were not to be educated and had to hide books and educational materials underneath their flooring. And when anti-communist citizens had to meet in closets and special hiding places away from the ear of the Kremlin. Will it eventually be that our citizens will be in the same situation to where we would have to secretly meet? Where will it all lead?

God is too great for that to happen. Our people are too strong to let Christianity be abolished from this country.

Should the National Day of Prayer be abolished by the constitutional law, shall we not actually organize the 2011 National Day of Prayer, but have a meeting of “people meeting people” on the same date and go through the same procedure of singing and praying while enjoying a breakfast? Yes, we might just be able to have a breakfast meeting for people who want to meet other people. Shall we just show up and pay for a breakfast for “people meeting people?”
