‘A Christmas Carol’

Christmas with the Chorale

The Federal Way Chorale’s Christmas concert is 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9 and 6 p.m. Dec. 11 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 515 S. 312th St. The concert features Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Hodie,” a beautiful telling of the Christmas story in song. The Chorale will be joined by three great soloists, the South Sound Youth Choirs, and the Federal Way Chorale Orchestra (an orchestra of 30 players with Concertmaster Ilkka Talvi). Jazz LIVE

This month features guitarist Michael Powers in his third annual Christmas jazz concert at 5 p.m. Dec. 18 at Marine View Church, 8469 Eastside Drive NE, Tacoma. Admission is free to all ages. Listen to contemporary stylings on Christmas songs along with his own selection of music. Attendees can enjoy hors d’oeuvres in conjunction with a fundraiser for the Marine View Guatemala mission team. Also, bring an unwrapped gift to donate to Federal Way area children. ‘Pinocchio’

Centerstage Theatre presents “Pinocchio,” another traditional English Christmas “Panto,” a fun-filled musical for all the family. This kind of pantomime is anything but silent. It’s loud, boisterous and full of music, and audience participation is encouraged. Show runs Nov. 26 to Dec. 23 at 3200 SW Dash Point Road in Federal Way.
