Homosexuals vs. majority
In response to the Nov. 12 letter “Equality for all families in America, please” regarding homosexual adoption: You got married in Canada. Now you move to this country. It is illegal here in Washington, including a Supreme Court challenge.
Several more states recently voted to ban this lifestyle, including California. The majority is speaking to you. Arkansas, by majority, has spoken to you and now bans what you are doing.
I feel sorry for the children you control. I can’t help but feel by your article your motive to have foster kids is to indocrinate them into this illegal lifestyle. You are moving them through like cattle and I object.
I object to you scaring the kids into thinking this great land of America is some bloodthirsty place coming to get them, and you’re their great protector. This is the approach taken by the homosexual agenda: To get this lifestyle into the kids in schools, and now you expose the agenda being accomplished in this arena. You say this legislation scared the kids. You are the one who scared the kids. You suppress the truth of the law and what the majority in America still believe is morally wrong. The kids don’t hear that. But they will.
The populace has spoken and it is not something those kids need to fear. One day, they will know the truth, and that will set them free. You said, reflecting on the election, “and on such a day of promise and new beginnings,” half of America vehemently disagrees with you.
We are not racist or intolerant. We make a stand for what is right, by a majority of the people.

As my bid to serve you in the state Legislature has come to an end, I want to thank all of you who supported me and congratulate Rep. Skip Priest on his re-election.
Rep. Priest has served this community for many years, and although we don’t always agree on issues, I respect his commitment to the people of Federal Way and the 30th District. It was an honor to run, and I hope that our district is stronger because of this campaign.
Running for office is humbling. Over the past seven months, I had the great opportunity to talk to thousands of people in this community at the door and discuss how we can reinvest in our people, fully fund our public schools and grow the middle class in this country.
I was honored to have the support of over 150 people who volunteered for our campaign, ranging in age from 5 to 87. Thank you so much to everyone who volunteered. Your efforts made a huge difference in this campaign.
Thank you also to the more than 19,000 people who voted for me. You made a strong statement of support for important issues in our community, including support for our public schools, workforce development, health care reform and small businesses.
I ran because I have spent my life helping others to improve their own, and I believed that I could make a difference in the Legislature. I will always remain involved in civic life and will work hard to support those in our community. Thank you again for giving me this opportunity to run.

Kudos to Vogt and Backstrom
I am a Russian Christian formerly persecuted for faith in the Soviet Union, an immigrant here, now a citizen of the USA.
I follow close your postings in the Federal Way Mirror and I particularly appreciate the sound and thoughtful articles of Angie Vogt and Walter Backstrom that are so brave and rare in these days.
So we decided in our family to write you simply a word of our support and prayer for you.
God bless you folks! He is still alive and his truth shall overcome. Keep serving our community the way you do it.
