The following is a sample from the Federal Way police public information log:

• At 2:09 p.m. Feb. 10, three juveniles were caught shoplifting at Target, 2201 S. Commons, carrying with them Yu-Gi-Oh trading cards with a value of $93.83. The young men tried passing the registers without attempting to pay and were eventually caught and released to their parents.

• At 8:16 p.m. Feb. 10, two men were involved in a verbal altercation near 33002 Pacific Highway. One of the men punched the other in the face several times, and when the victim went to report the assault to 911, the suspect pulled the phone from the wall. The suspect was arrested and taken to Fife jail.

• At 10:44 a.m. Feb. 9, a bullet was thrown by an unknown subject through a child’s window at 35405 23rd Ave. SW. The child’s mother reported she and her son heard a noise coming from the boy’s bedroom. When she entered the bedroom, she found a hole in her son’s window with a long crack running vertically. The suspect was never seen or heard.

• At 1:14 a.m. Feb. 10, two people stabbed each other with a knife during a dispute at 2645 S. 298th St. They were treated at St. Francis Hospital with minor injuries.

• At 1:37 a.m. Feb. 9, a man at PJ Pockets, 1320 S. 324th St., became belligerent when being told to stop drinking. He continued to drink and was escorted out by the staff. The man immediately assaulted the security guard by punching him twice, and was eventually arrested.

• At 7:01 p.m. Feb. 9, a suspicious unknown male began knocking at numerous doors telling people that he didn’t want to get hurt or shot. Neighbors called the police and when the officers found the subject, they reported the man was at an unspecified apartment complex near 2405 S. Star Lake Road, smoking a cigarette and claiming he heard a shot pop out loud and instantly jumped out of his balcony running for help.

• At 6:20 p.m. Feb. 9 near 31827 Pacific Highway, two homeless men got into a physical disagreement over a sword. Both men were under the influence of alcohol and one of them placed his hands around the other man’s neck, choking him. One of the men got away, taking the sword with him. When officers found the victim, he would not say anything about the incident and only wanted to get his sword back.

• At 11:51 a.m. Feb. 7, a student reported to the school counselor and police officers that she was forced into sexual assault with a known juvenile male in Seattle against her will. She later confessed it was false and just did it in order to capture her family’s and friends’ attention and to conceal her personal life and sexual activity from her parents.
