Aaron Broussard — The 2008 Federal Way High School grad has played in nine games for the Seattle University Redhawks and is averaging 3.6 points and 3.1 rebounds a game. The Redhawks are 5-4 overall. Broussard, a 6-foot-4 forward, had nine points and six rebounds in a loss to San Diego State on Nov. 28.
Marques Hollins — The 2007 Federal Way grad has played in one game at Seattle University during the early season. The guard played four minutes.
Terrell Smith — The 2007 Federal Way High School grad has started all six games this year at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif. Smith is averaging 8.0 points and 3.8 rebounds a game and leads the Tigers in minutes played at 30 a game. Pacific is 3-3 on the season with losses to Cal, Washington and Fresno State. Smith, a 6-5 small forward, was named to the Big West Conference’s All-Freshman Team last year after averaging 2.4 points and two rebounds a game.
“He has got all the physical attributes,” said Pacific head coach Bob Thomasson. “His shot has improved a lot, he just has to trust it a little more. He is a great athlete and is a very good defender. His athleticism should give the fans many exciting moments. He is going to be a great player for us this year.”
Pooh Williams — The Federal Way grad is averaging 2.8 points a game for the Utah State Aggies and has started two games. The 6-3 guard played in 29 games last season, averaging 2.4 points and one assist a game. Utah State is 5-1 on the season.
“He has excellent ability and athleticism,” said Utah State head coach Stew Morrill. “Must improve his work habits, continue to mature and become a consistent practice player to reach his potential.”
Salena Dickerson — The Federal Way grad is playing her sophomore season at Washington State. Dickerson transferred from Gonzaga University. This season, Dickerson has played in five games and has two points and one rebound. The Cougars are 5-2 overall.
Dickerson, a 5-11 wing, appeared in 28 of the Cougars’ 30 games last season. She averaged 4.3 points and two rebounds a game last year.
Stedman Richardson and Dan Young — The pair are playing at Highline Community College. Richardson, a Decatur grad, is a sophomore guard and Young, a Federal Way grad, is a freshman forward. Highline is currently 3-1 on the season. Young had 16 points and 12 rebounds during a win over Portland CC on Nov. 23.
Morris Anderson — The Federal Way grad has started all six games for the unbeaten Western Washington Vikings. Anderson is averaging 10.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game. This is Anderson’s first season at Western. The 6-3 junior guard played two seasons at Highline Community College before transferring to Western. Anderson was a first-team All-NWAACC Western Division all star as a sophomore at Highline after averaging 14 points a game.
Mike Hunter and Shermarke Ibrahim — The Jefferson grads are playing their freshman seasons for Green River Community College. Hunter is a 6-1 guard and Ibrahim is a 6-4 wing. The Gators are 3-3 on the season.
JaRon Brown — The Decatur grad is playing his junior year at the University of Montana Western. Brown, 6-6, is a 2006 graduate of Decatur and played the last two seasons at Shoreline Community College, where he averaged 19 points, eight rebounds per game and 54 percent of his field goals. Brown is averaging 8.8 points a game and 4.4 rebounds. Montana Western is 6-4 overall.
Marcus Wright — The Federal Way grad Marcus Wright is playing his senior season at Evergreen State College in Olympia. Wright, a 6-3 guard, averaged three points and three rebounds a game last year.
Kalei Frank and Christine Kim — The twosome are playing their senior seasons at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore. Frank, a TJ grad, played two seasons at Tacoma Community College and Kim, a Decatur grad, played at Highline. Both are guards and started all 24 of Pacific’s games last year. Frank averaged 7.6 points, 5.8 rebounds a game and led the team in assists. Kim averaged 8.3 points. Pacific is currently 1-4 on the season.
Nate Sanchez — The Federal Way grad is playing his senior season at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. The 6-8 Sanchez averaged 11.3 points and five rebounds last year. He is averaging 7.6 points and 3.3 rebounds a game. Westminster is currently 10-1 on the season.
Darious Walker — The 2008 Decatur grad, is currently playing at Tacoma Community College. The 6-5 forward was an All-SPSL first-teamer last year. Walker had 19 points and 12 rebounds Saturday in a win over Edmonds CC. Tacoma is 4-0 on the season.
