Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
• Sticky situation: At 7:10 p.m. Dec. 12 in the 33000 block of 27th Avenue Southwest, a victim reported an unknown suspect put glue in the door and garage door locks, prohibiting the victim from accessing his home.
• Gunshots: At 6:51 p.m. Dec. 13 in the 30200 block of 23rd Avenue South, a complainant reported hearing several gunshots outside his or her home. Police found five spent .45-caliber shell casings.
• Stolen check: At 12:05 p.m. Dec. 13 in the 200 block of South 346th Lane, a victim reported her unemployment check was cashed by an unknown suspect. The victim believes the check was stolen from her mailbox.
• Bear complaint: At 1:05 p.m. Dec. 14 in the 400 block of South 348th Street, police responded to a complaint about a bear. An investigation revealed it could not be determined if the complainant had actually seen a bear.
• Attempted bank robbery: At 5:39 p.m. Dec. 15 at 33525 Pacific Highway South, a female suspect attempted to rob a bank by displaying a note to the teller and issuing a death threat. The suspect left without any money.
• Financial exploitation: At 3:17 p.m. Dec. 15 in the 31000 block of 14th Avenue South, an elderly victim reported a friend financially exploited her.
• Runaway: At 3:49 p.m. Dec. 15 in the 1700 block of South 305th Place, a parent reported her daughter missing for two days. The mother believes the juvenile ran away to live with her boyfriend. The mom did not know the boyfriend’s full name.
• Warrant: At 6:39 p.m. Dec. 15 in the 27200 block of Pacific Highway South, a suspect was arrested on a felony warrant out of New York.
