As a long-term resident and member of the business community in Federal Way, I strongly support the purchase of the former Toys “R” Us site by the city for a civic center/performance hall.

The location is ideal as it is in the heart of the area that has been identified for development of the downtown core. It is within walking distance of the transit center, hotels and restaurants, providing easy navigation by car or on foot for attendees of the many events that will be held at the new venue. It will create a wonderful gathering place for our residents and attract dollars from other ZIP codes as visitors come from outside areas and spend money on event tickets, food and lodging. This project will create jobs in Federal Way and is crucial to the future success of local businesses.
