City Center access project
The public is invited to attend an open house on the City Center Access Project. The event runs 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 12 in the Macy’s courtyard at The Commons mall, 1928 S. Commons Way.
The city, Washington State Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration and a team of consultants will be available to answer questions and take comments about the project, which proposes to add another access point to the city, thus relieving traffic at the Interstate 5 and South 320th Street exit.
Three solutions are being considered: An entry at South 312th Street, an entry at South 324th Street or no new access points.
Design drawings, animated presentations and informational display boards will be available to the public. Spanish and Korean translators will be available.

Alternative high school enrollment
A informational meeting on new student enrollment at Truman High School will be 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at Truman, 31455 28th Ave. S. Prospective students and parents must attend the meeting in order to be considered for enrollment.
Truman is geared for students in the 9th or 10th grade who find themselves at risk of failing one or more classes. Students who may benefit from a smaller school community may be a good fit at Truman. A two-year commitment is required to attend Truman. Truman will open on Dec. 1. Call (253) 945-5800.
Circuit City closing
Federal Way’s Circuit City, 34920 Enchanted Parkway S., is closing. The store is one of 155 set to close and is the only Washington state store scheduled to close.
Pacific Highway
The public is invited to an open house about the upcoming Pacific Highway South HOV Lanes phase IV project from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 6 at City Hall, 33325 8th Ave. S.
The project will connect the downtown portion of the overarching project, from South 312th Street, to improvements already made in the northern parts of the city. Additional lanes, landscaped medians, left-turn and U-turn lanes and sidewalks will be constructed. Overhead utility lines will be placed underground, with the exception of high-voltage electrical transmission lines.
