J.R. Celski takes home three medals at World Short Track Speed Skating Championships

Federal Way resident J.R. Celski won a total of three medals at the 2010 World Short Track Speed Skating Championships last weekend. The championships took place in Sofia, Bulgaria. Celski, who won a pair of medals at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver last month, finished third in the 1,000 meters, third in the 3,000 meters and was a part of the United States’ silver-medal performance in the 5,000-meter relay.

Celski, who won a pair of medals at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver last month, finished third in the 1,000 meters, third in the 3,000 meters and was a part of the United States’ silver-medal performance in the 5,000-meter relay.

Celski also finished fourth in the overall standings, which were won by South Korea’s Lee Ho-Suk.

In Vancouver, Celski won a bronze medal in the 1,500 and a bronze in the 5,000 relay.
