Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:
• Robbery and assault: At 11:02 p.m. Sept. 17 at 28719 Military Road S., a suspect attempted to steal two 12-packs of beer. A complainant yelled at the suspect. Another complainant heard the yell and contacted the suspect. The suspect struck the second complainant in the face with a case of beer.
• Runaway sent home: At 7:47 a.m. Sept. 16 at 16th Ave. S., a school counseling secretary advised police that a juvenile male runaway was attempting to register for school. The runaway was listed with the Bonney Lake police department. His mother was called and took custody of him.
• Pellet gun: At 2:12 a.m. Sept. 16 in the 27900 block of Pacific Highway S., a victim reported he heard a loud bang, saw a van flee and then discovered a small hole in his apartment’s exterior window. The hole appears to have been caused by a pellet gun.
• Residential robbery: At 11:37 p.m. Sept. 17 in the 900 block of Dash Point Road, police saw two suspects running in a residential area carrying electronics and a pillow case full of items. The suspects dropped the items in a bush and could not explain the scenario to police. A victim could not be identified. The suspects were released and the belongings were taken to the police station.
• Stolen vehicles: At 11:45 p.m. Sept. 17 in the 2400 block of South 316th Lane, while at a scene, police discovered a subject in possession of several unreported stolen vehicles. The suspect was arrested and confessed.
• Music complaint turns serious: At 8:33 p.m. Sept. 17 in the 2200 block of South Star Lake Road, a subject was contacted regarding a music complaint. Police ran the subject’s name and found he or she had a Seattle warrant. No Seattle officers were available to meet for a warrant transfer.
• Stolen property: At 5:31 p.m. Sept. 17 in the 28700 block of 18th Avenue South, a male reported property from his storage unit stolen. His roommate and girlfriend said she had possession of the property and was the property’s owner.
