The following is a sample from the Federal Way police public information log:

• At 9:54 a.m. April 6 at 32510 Pacific Highway South, a police officer stopped a woman walking along the roadside. She was wearing a nightgown and trench coat, and when stopped in front of the listed address, stated she owned the business and God told her she should pray. The woman failed to provide her name and instead told the officer “I have several.”

• On April 7 at 30524 8th Ave. S.W., a child reported to a school nurse that his mother hit him on the top of his head with a plate. Various lacerations were found along the child’s scalp, and abrasions, which were determined to be from the mother hitting the child with her crutches, were found on his side.

• At 10:36 p.m. April 7 at 27912 Pacific Highway South, a witness reported hearing gunshots. Police arrived to the scene and recovered and booked into evidence three .25-caliber bullet casings. The witness reported seeing a group of people outside the building, hearing the gunshots and then seeing the group flee. The witness was unsure if there were any victims in the case.

• At 12:41 a.m. April 5 at 1320 S. 324th St., a man called police and claimed someone was trying to kill him and had shot at him several times in the parking lot of the establishment. He reported hiding beneath his vehicle while the shots were fired. Police responded and were unable to find any witnesses to confirm the man’s report. No bullets, casings or bullet holes were found. The man appeared intoxicated and was having a hard time standing.

• At 6:30 a.m. April 5, police were dispatched to 27606 Pacific Highway South. South King Fire and Rescue had also been summoned. Police arrived to find a mother giving her 3-month-old infant CPR. Paramedics pronounced the baby dead upon their arrival and an investigation was launched.

• At 1:36 a.m. April 4 at 30619 Pacific Highway S., a juvenile victim stated a male suspect picked her up and paid her to have intercourse with him. The victim reported the suspect would not cease his actions upon the victim’s request. The suspect was booked into jail and the juvenile was returned to a group home.

• At 1:11 p.m. April 4 at 125 S.W. Campus Drive, it was reported that a suspect grabbed his co-worker by her throat, choked her and threatened to kill her. Officers visited the subject’s home and arrested him.

• At 2:48 p.m. April 3 at 33215 36th Ave. S.W., a complainant reported an unknown suspect was using the complainant’s deceased husband’s personal information to open accounts. The officer mailed an information packet to the complainant to aid in the process of claiming identity theft.

• At 2:29 p.m. April 3 at 31500 1st Ave., a person brandished a knife at four people. One of the victims took the knife from the suspect and police were summoned. Police interviewed the man who exposed the knife and found he was mentally handicapped and unable to understand the seriousness of his actions. The man’s father was called, and he took custody of the man.

• At 4:03 p.m. April 3 at 30007 6th Ave. S.W., a victim reported her brother’s girlfriend punched her in the face, causing pain. The suspect and victim used to be roommates.
