The King County Council voted on Dec. 9 to appoint Stan McCall to the Board of Commissioners for Fire District No. 28.

The appointment will run until the results of the November 2015 election are certified.

McCall currently serves as a police commander for the city of Federal Way, which is represented on King County Council by Council member von Reichbauer.

“Stan McCall is extremely qualified and will bring a great deal of experience to the Board of Commissioners,” said von Reichbauer. “Stan has made a career out of serving the public, including the last 17 years as a lieutenant and police commander for the Federal Way Police Department. I look forward to the residents of South King County continuing to benefit from Stan’s service and wisdom.”

A three-member board of commissioners oversees Fire District No. 28, which provides fire protection and emergency services to the city of Enumclaw and surrounding unincorporated areas. A portion of the fire district also lies within Council District 7, represented by von Reichbauer.
