Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Police impersonator: At 9:42 p.m. March 17 in the 36000 block of 17th Avenue South, a woman reported that a man had knocked on her door, claiming to be with the police department. According to the report, the man was wearing non-police attire, and flashed a fake badge at the woman. The report notes that police attempted to find the man in the area, but were unsuccessful.

• Husband assaulted for telling man he can’t dance with wife: At 1:57 a.m. March 17 in the 2000 block of South 320th Street, a husband and wife were dancing at a restaurant/bar. According to the report, an unknown male approached and attempted to dance with the wife. The husband said no, at which time the unknown male assaulted the husband with a “hard object,” causing numerous lacerations to the husband’s face and head. The report notes the husband was transported to St. Francis for treatment.

• Sit in car, get busted on warrant: At 5:13 a.m. March 17 in the 2100 block of SW 336th Street, police observed a man sitting in a vehicle outside of a gas station. According to the report, the license plate on the vehicle came back registered to a different make and model, but that the vehicle in question was not stolen. However, the report notes the man occupying the vehicle had an active warrant and was arrested.

• Propane tanks stolen: At 8:15 a.m. March 17 in the 2100 block of SW 356th Street, a man reported a storage container had been broken into, and approximately 20 propane tanks had been stolen out of it.

• Thieves be thieving: At 10:58 a.m. March 16 in the 1100 block of SW 296th Street, the victim reported that unknown suspects had entered their garage and broke into their car. According to the report, the unknown suspects stole an mp3 player from the vehicle, and a generator from the garage.

• Sounds like a trip to Maury is in the works: At 1:56 p.m. March 17 in the 33000 block of 1st Way SW, a man reported he had been assaulted by his girlfriend’s husband.

• Live rounds found: At 6:27 p.m. March 17 in the 2300 block of SW 336th Street, a man reported finding five live .38 rounds. Police took the rounds into their custody and disposed of them at police headquarters.

• Man receives threatening texts from ex: At 2:26 a.m. March 16 in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, a man reported receiving text messages from his ex-girlfriend that he wasn’t “safe.” According to the report, the man had testified a few years ago against another man who had shot him and killed his friend. The report notes the ex-girlfriend has been threatening the man for some time now, telling him that he’s a snitch and that “the streets would take care of him.”

• Man trespassed from fast food joint: At 8:47 a.m. March 16 in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, a man became irate that his fast food order was incorrect. According to the report, the man threatened to slap an employee and also send a female relative to the restaurant to assault the employee. Police were able to contact the man, who apologized for the threats. The report notes the man was permanently trespassed from the location.

• The joy of neighbors: At 9:15 a.m. March 16 in the 29000 block of 18th Avenue South, a woman reported someone had used a black marker to obscure the peephole in her front door. The woman said she cleared the marker off, but that it was quickly covered over again with black marker. The woman believed a neighbor, whom she has complained about in the past, was likely responsible.
