Cocaine bust
The King County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration concluded “Operation Pink Tiger” on May 9 with the filing of charges against six defendants for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine. The arrests May 8 bring to 17 the total number of defendants charged in the case. Among those charged May 9 include Federal Way resident Oscar Manual Vargas-Feliz, 32. The operation took its name from the nickname of the probe’s original target.
The first arrests and indictments in the case occurred in late March 2008, with the arrest of 10 people for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and heroin. Among those arrested in March include Alberto Roman-Perez, 26, of Federal Way.
