Voting time is almost over, but if you still have your ballots, here’s who to vote for.
First of all, I cannot stress enough how much we need Jim Ferrell for mayor. Don’t be afraid of change. We need Skip Priest out and Jim Ferrell in.
Here’s why: Jim is highly capable of leading our city in the right direction, but I cannot say the same about Skip. The most talked about thing in this election is the Performing Arts and Conference Center (PACC). This would be a $32 million project for our city. Do we really want to spend our money on this instead of police officers?
Do you know that one day this year, we only had seven officers on duty? We have a city of almost 90,000 people. That would mean that one officer was to watch over approximately 12,000 people. Let that sink in for a bit. I’m sure if Jim was in office, this would not have happened. Even if we want the PACC, wouldn’t we want to be able to vote on it? I’m sure I would.
While Jim said that we should be able to vote on this, we never got an answer from Skip when he was asked about it. If you would like to know anything else about Jim, please go to ferrellformayor.com.
Second, we want someone in Federal Way City Council position 4 that can make their own decisions and not follow other people’s decisions (Skip). Move over Jeanne Burbidge, let’s get real here. We need John Fairbanks in office. He is a respected businessman who can help lead this city in the right direction. We also need him to get a breath of fresh air.
Jeanne has been on the council for 16 years. I don’t know about you, but I think that’s just too long and it’s time for change. John Fairbanks cares about our people, our businesses and our visitors. I cannot say the same about some people on our council. If there is anything else that may encourage your decision, please visit electjohnfairbanks.com.
I am urging you to vote Jim Ferrell for mayor and John Fairbanks for city council position 4. Thank you for listening.
