Mayor Jim Ferrell announced Tuesday the departure of the executive director of the Performing Arts and Event Center, Theresa Yvonne.
The city has assigned Deputy Public Works Director EJ Walsh to manage day-to-day operations at the facility, which opened last summer. Walsh was confirmed by the City Council on April 3 as the next Public Works director when Marwan Salloum retires later this year.
Yvonne started working for the city in 2015 and helped open the PAEC.
“We thank Theresa for her three years working for the city and the work she did to help open the Performing Arts and Event Center,” Ferrell said in a media release. “However, we have decided to move in a different direction in regards to how the facility should operate.”
The personnel change will not affect any scheduled shows or events for the remainder of the 2017-18 season.
Yvonne was paid an annual salary of $120,960 in 2017, according to city records.
